PORTRAIT PROCEDURE AND PRICING
This process has been designed to efficiently and effectively utilize both the client and artist's time. The artist works closely with the subject on location/setting, clothing, posture/pose, expression and tonality of the portrait. Mr. Murcko works extensively off photographic reference materials. Therefore, it is critical to the sucess of portrait that the creative session between subject, artist and photographer be well coordinated.

There are five key areas to the creation and completion of a commissioned portrait.

Step One: Pre-Meeting (via telephone between client and artist)
This is a brief 15-minute phone call to discuss and agree to the following in detail:
  • Confirmation of portrait and canvas size - Head/Sholder; Half Figure/Hands; Three-quarters lenght; or Full Figure
  • Possible locations and backgrounds - indoor or outdoor
  • Degree of detail in background - including objects, mementos, etc.
  • Clothing / Hair /Make-up options
  • Confirmation of time and place for Creative meeting
Step Two: Creative Reference Meeting (in person between client, artist, photographer and stylist)
Depending on complexity and size of portrait, this meeting could be between 1-2 hours (however, the artist is flexible and can work around a subject's schedule if time is limited). The goal of this meeting is to capture photographically the most inspiring gesture and pose. The artist will work closely with the subject until he/she has captured all the necessary reference material to complete the portrait.
  • Final review of location, background materials/detail, clothing, hair and make-up
  • Artist will pose client for photographic reference materials
  • Confirm timing and delivery of final painted portrait
Step Three: Sketch Review and Approval (via e-mail between client, artist and business manager)
  • Artist to send via e-mail or printed image of preliminary pencil sketch
  • To be reviewed in detail and approved by client
  • Also discuss final size of portrait as portrayed on the canvas
Step Four: Weekly Review of Painted Portrait (via e-mail between client, artist and business manager)
  • Work in progress will be sent via e-mail to client on a weekly basis for comment and approval
Step Five: Final Review, Delivery, Approval and Frame Recommendation / Referral (portrait via delivery service; discuss between artist and client via telephone)
  • Client and artist to review and discuss final portrait and possible frame options
